Jose’ Juico is a kitchen and restaurant designer by day, but spends his evenings and week-ends mastering the art of ikebana. Jose’ grows many of the plants he (uses) in his arrangements but for more exotics he has become an expert in the local flower markets of Philadelphia and the suburbs. Jose’ has developed his art even further by custom designing and (hand sculpting) his (own) containers out of clay. Each vase is designed with a particular arrangement in mind.
Jose’ shows in the Philadelphia Flower Show each year as well as doing arrangements for the Japanese House in Fairmont Park and Longwood Gardens. He is Vice President of the Ohara School of Ikebana in the Delaware Valley and Exhibitions Chairman of the Philadelphia Chapter of Ikebana International.
The staff at Artisans is warm and friendly, the beverages are great and they always have an interesting variety of artwork on the walls from local artists and cool pottery.
